Seven years ago we moved to a small town south of Boston. I have found New Englanders to be fine, helpful, kind people, but I still miss Montreal and all things Canadian. In fact, I think that I feel more "Canadian" now than I did before. I am more appreciative of the friendliness of Quebecers and the social and healthcare benefits of Canada since coming here to the States. It has been hard to make friends here and I was thinking of starting an ex-pats social club here. Anyone in Mansfield?

Am I the only "Quebecois" in South Dakota? I came here in 1994 for a 4 month clinical rotation, fell in love with a local, returned to Quebec and dated "long distance" for 4 years. I finally moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota for Valentine's Day, 1998. We have 2 kids, ages 6 and 4. I miss Montreal and I miss speaking French! If anybody wants exchange emails in French that would be great, or come and visit during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally!

We were relocated from Udroa, Ontario to Hartford, Wisconsin. After a year in Wisconsin we are settling in to our new surroundings. My wife and I try to return "Home" at least 4 or 5 times a year to visit family, go to a Chip wagon, buy Smarties and meet friends at the Wild Wings restaurant in Keswick, Ontario. We've met lots of friendly Wisconsions and are interested in linking up with other Canadians in Wisconsin. We are also dog lovers and have Briards that keep us busy. Look forward to meeting other Canadians in Wisconsin.

Cheers, Eh!

I came to Texas in 1994 to work as a nurse. I stayed for 2 years before taking contract work in North Carolina, New Mexico, Missouri, and Kansas. I came back to Texas in 2003. I have a small place on Eagle Mountain Lake. I grew up on Lake Ontario, and still have a cottage (and all my family) near Picton. While much smaller than Lake Ontario, Eagle Mountain helps to ease "the homesick". I love Texans, but miss Canadians.

A short message to all Canadians living in the Denver area. I know that some of the C2C events have been held at Boston's Restaurant in Highlands Ranch. The owner of that restaurant was a proud Canadian by the name of Ron Brodeur. Ron passed away last week at the very young age of 42. My family knew him as a hockey coach. He will be sadly missed.

I was brought to the U.S. as a child by my parents from Vancouver. Have lived most of my life in the U.S. with the exception of several years back in B.C. (high school years) and then 6 years with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Victoria B.C. where I retired in 2004. My wife and I bought a place in Creston B.C. and live there in the summer months, then travel to Phoenix for the winter.

All of my relatives (with the exception of my daughters) live in the Vancouver, Nelson, and generally southern B.C. area so it's great to be able to visit them once in a while. My daughters live in Southern California and Colorado so we are able to visit them while here in Phoenix.

My husband brought me here to Pennsylvania. He is a fisherman from PA that went to Canada to fish and found me. One of those "Thousand Islands love stories". We married in 1989 and moved here in 1997. This is my residence, but Canada is my home.

I work for a manufacturer that sell their product in Canada, and do Customer Service for the Quebec account. I finally get to use my French. Since I am a grandma, and have two grown children in Canada, along with my mom, sibling and my heart - you will find me on Highway 81 on long weekends on my way home, bringing back Mars bars, Smarties, Tim's coffee - the stuff that gives you comfort.

My wife and I hail from New Brunswick, she from Moncton and I from Saint John. We are both practicing physicians living in SW Georgia since 1994 -- she's a pediatrician and I am a Family Physician/ED doc. We have five home schooled children from age 6-16.

I wear a variety of hats -- Chief Medical Officer of Florida One Disaster Medical Assistance Team with US Department of Health and Human Services; Chair of the American Board of Disaster Medicine; Clinical Assistant Professor in Departments of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA; ACLS National Faculty for Georgia with the American Heart Association; Medical Director of Georgia Pacific Pulp & Paper Mill in SW GA; Medical Director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center in Colquitt,Georgia; Medical Director of Flint River Hospice; member of National Speakers' Association; Chief Operating Officer of Disaster Life Support of North America, Inc.

Despite being very busy, we still manage to spend 3-4 weeks in Canada every year. We miss all our friends back home and love to stay in touch with the news from up North!

I was also thrilled to find this website! At the age of two, I was whisked away from Ottawa to Western NY by my Canadian parents. We returned often to visit family and I decided to try going to High School in Ottawa to explore my Canadian roots. I then went to McGill for nursing school and totally embraced the Quebecois lifestyle. I have five American brothers and in 1993, I, in turn, whisked my two year old son to sunny Arizona. I now also have an American son too! I will always miss Canada, mostly Montreal Jazz, skating on the canal in Ottawa & universal healthcare -- Go Canadiens, Senators, and Coyotes!
